Record entry for Walkington 10k
ENTRIES have now closed for next Friday's (July 10) Walkington 10k road race, with a record number of runners set to take part.
A total of 625 athletes have entered the main race, with 250 signed up for the 1.75 multi-terrain fun run. No entries will be taken on the night.
The fun run will start at 6.45pm, with the main race starting at 7.30pm.
The 10k route heads out of the village before climbing up Bluestone Bottoms and returning to Walkington via Little Weighton.
The races, which finish at the village playing fields and are organised by the Beverley Athletic Club, have been sponsored by Airkool Contracts Ltd. T-shirts for the event have been supplied by Start Fitness of Beverley.
