Hide AdUnited's lead was doubled on 34 minutes, Marcus Marshall slotting in from the penalty spot.
Boro had two openings just before the break, both falling to top-scorer Nathan Cartman, but he was superbly denied by United keeper Jordan Pierrepont before dragging his second opportunity wide.
Just three minutes into the second half Boro found themselves 3-0 down, Kane Richards finding the back of the net for the hosts.
Just after the hour mark United bagged a fourth, Marshall bagging his second of the evening.

Hide AdAthletic managed to bag a consolation goal on 76 minutes, Michael Coulson turning his man and firing past Pierrepont to grab his second goal in as many games since returning from an achilles injury.
It was too little, too late for Kelly's men though, who were well beaten by their in-form hosts.
Boro now switch their attentions to Saturday's FA Trophy clash against Witton Albion at the Flamingo Land Stadium.
