Busy start to 2012 for judo star Lois
THE last few months of 2011 saw Beverley’s Lois Brown once again retaining her place on the England judo squad and on the England Talent Development squad.
She attended several training camps and medalled in both the Welsh and Scottish Open Competitions.
In December, she also took part in trials for the 2012 Commonwealth Judo Championships, which she won.
The coming year is proving to be just as hectic; especially the next couple of weeks.
This weekend she is taking part in the Junior British Closed Championships and, on Sunday, because she finished within the top eight at Senior level last year, she is competing in the Senior British Closed Championships.
Then it is on to Wales where she will compete in the Commonwealth Championships on Tuesday at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff.
It doesn’t stop there because next Friday (27 January) she travels with the England squad to compete at junior and senior level in the Belgium Ladies Open in Arlon, Belgium and then a three-day International training camp at Spa, Belgium.
As if the above wasn’t enough to contend with, she has also got her A levels and has seven exams to work around. Mum Mandy said: “ I don’t know how she does it.”
