Thai boxer Danny eyes Northern title
The 26-year-old, who works at Plaxtons, is taking on AVT Gym’s Josh Collins for the northern title at the York Railway Institute on Saturday, the show starting at 6pm.
He said: “If I can continue my winning run this weekend I would like to compete for the English Muay Thai crown eventually.

Chilton took up kick-boxing eight years ago, with former world champion Shane Kirton, who is also from Scarborough, training him.
Unfortunately Chilton suffered a serious anterior cruciate ligament knee injury shortly afterwards and this kept him out of the ring for a lengthy spell.
The Scarborough kick-boxer said: “I was out of action for a good 18 months and it took me a long while to get back on track, but around four years ago I got going again and moved to the Legions Gym in York and I am still based there now.

There are 14 fights on the bill on Saturday evening, with tickets for the show costing £25.

The former mixed martial arts fighter added: “My fight is scheduled to be a contest of five three-minute rounds, and with 13 other bouts on the night it should be a good night.
“I always get plenty of local support for my fights, which I am very grateful for.”
