O'Toole's Yorkshire title bid ends in frustration
O’Toole, who only found out about a change of opponent on the day of the fight, lost out to Simpson, who he had previously fought twice.
The Scarborough man won the first round, using his superior jab and boxing skills to stay away from Simpson’s advances.

Westway prospect Lewis Spaven produced a slick display to edge out Boldon ABC’s Lee Gordon in Newcastle.
The 15-year-old light-welterweight was quickly the dominant fighter in the first round, catching Gordon with his southpaw right hand, which he followed with an accurate and whipping hook that resulted in a standing count.
Gordon recovered but had to survive a tricky finale to the round as Spaven peppered him on the ropes.

Thirteen-year-old Justin Rudd was on the receiving end of a home decision, despite dominating most of his fight against Anthony Johnson.
Coach George Rhodes said: “We were very pleased with his performance. He should have won the fight.”
