Beverley Town Ladies FC picked up their fourth trophy of the season when they beat Scarborough Ladies 5-1 in the League Cup final at Goole Town FC.
A hat-trick from Angela Carr and a goal each for Nicki Ridley and player of the match Amy Rogers earned Beverley Town the League and Cup double.

Beverley will be moving up next season from the Women's Regional East Riding League to North East Division 1 South.

Proud manager/coach Rachel Gay commented: "As we had already claimed the league title this season by winning every game, I thought the girls may have been a little bit complacent, but credit to them, they really put everything into this final and came out well deserved winners.

"The style of football they played was magnificent, they switched the play well and we took their chances in front of goal, which was pleasing to see."

Beverley Town also won the East Riding Futsal tournament and were crowned England Beach Soccer Champions last summer, but winning the league was the greatest honour.

Rachel said "Going up was our main goal this season, we have a very young and ambitious squad who need to be playing tough opponents each week to be tested.

"We did suffer with a lot of injuries to key players early on in the season but the squad stuck together and everyone played their part in us gaining promotion. The other three cups were just the icing on the cake."

Beverley Town Ladies formed in 2004 with only eight players but have managed to build a thriving squad of over 20 players, thanks largely to Awards for All.
