BEVERLEY Town AFC held their end of season presentation night at their clubhouse at Norwood Park.
Chairman Stuart Akester congratulated players and officials on their club’s most successful season in the Humber Premier League, the first team ending the season with a best ever points tally of 55 to finish fourth.
They also reached the East Ridi
ng Senior Cup semi-final before going out to Unibond Premier League side North Ferriby United.
Town’s reserves finished third in the East Riding County League Premier Division and the Beavers retained their place in Division One.
This was a good feat for the club, turning out three teams on a Saturday in a good standard of football.
Town’s Under 18 side won their League Cup and finished runners up in the league and in the Dr Lilley Cup.
Club secretary Gary Proud thanked the club’s main sponsors Darren Hart of Groundtech Landscaping and Ground Maintenance and also Dave Calvert of the Beaver pub.
He also announced the club were in talks with Groundtech on further sponsorship for next season.
Awards were presented to Mike Evins, first team players’ player of the year, reserves players’ player went to Rich Durham and the Beavers’ players’ player Greg Usher.
Ben Atkinson received the Under 18s players’ player and Dale Darling the coaches’ player of the year. Dale also won the club’s Young player of the year and Rich Jagger won the chairman’s player of the year award.
Town’s pre-season training begins on Tuesday July 1, before the pre-season friendlies with Hall Road Rangers, and Selby Town, and York and District sides Old Malton and Kartiers. The Humber Premier League season begins on August 16.
