ATHLETICO FC are guaranteed national football next season after securing third spot in the Hull Sunday Football League Premier Division.
In a four-day spell the Beverley club have beaten Blackburn Ferry 3-0 away, and then Park Athletic 2-1 away, to qualify for the National KO Cup, which involves clubs from the whole of the country.

Athletico went one down against Park on Wednesday evening, but stayed in contention thanks to some good saves from the keeper. They levelled with 15 minutes of the match remaining thanks to Glen Rushton, and four minutes later Jon Ricardo secured the points with a header.

With two matches still to play, Athletico will be one of four teams from the Premier Division entered into the national knockout.
