WITH only two weeks to go in the race for the Premier League title, things couldn't be closer in the 4 Seasons Pool Championship.
Richard Anderson, who finished second last year, has once again put himself in contention with a 7-2 win over Adam Merkin. Chris Jubb saw off Gary Day 7-2 to climb into joint 2nd spot with Mark Gabell, whose 5-4 win over Kelvin Ford stretched his unb
eaten run to 20 matches overtwo seasons.
Recent matches saw Lissa Richardson hammer Paul Evans 8-1, while Simon Evans beat Rob Hunter 5-4, and Craig Ford beat Nick Hayton 5-4.
In Division One there are a number of outstanding fixtures, but Lee Hastings is looking hot favourite to win the title, while Zevan Bulter lost 5-4 to Simon Blackwell.
The race for promotion, however, is very wide open and anyone from 2nd down to 7th can make it into the top four. Kris Gledhill won his match 6-3 against Matt Kurring, who himself had won five in a row before this reversal. Rick Lee beat Jo Robson 5-4.
