CONNECTIONS of Helvellyn have targeted next weekend's Group One Betfair Sprint Cup at Haydock after his win in the Beverley Bullet Sprint on Saturday.
The three year old edged out Borderlescott by a short head to claim the valuable Listed prize, which was the feature race of the track's two Bank Holiday weekend cards.

Meanwhile, the team behind Jadarra will be looking to follow in some famous ho
ofprints after the Mark Johnston trained filly claimed the EBF Speciosa Maiden.

The race was named after last season's 1000 Guineas winner who also claimed the equivalent prize two years ago.

The big handicap of the day, the £50,000 totesport.com Stakes over a mile and a quarter saw a surprise winner as Teslin claimed the spoils at 33-1 under David Allan. Allan was to enjoy a productive weekend on the Westwood, claiming three winners. He completed a Saturday double aboard Royal Composer to claim the second division maiden sprint, before making all on Secret Asset to win the feature Britannia Rescue Nursery at Sunday's meeting.

The Sunday card was also notable for the presence of a rare Godolphin runner at Beverley. Evening Affair beat the odds-on favourite Muqadam in a blanket finish to the Beverley Lions Maiden Stakes which saw the first three separated by less than a length.
