The Beverley Guardian, a free newspaper, is distributed to more than 15,000 homes each week. The editorial and advertising teams for all three publications are based at Times House, Mill Street, Driffield. Its regional head office is in Scarborough, but it is run as part of the Driffield Times series, its sister newspapers being the Driffield Times, founded in 1860, and the newer Driffield Post. Although responding to changing times and demands - the Beverley Guardian abandoned its broadsheet format in November 1988 in favour of an easier-to-manage, up-to-date tabloid look - it has retained its core purpose: To offer an unsurpassable service to the people and advertisers of Beverley and district, concentrating on its core Beverley area. So it has evolved into a unique product. It is now a free newspaper the strength of which is its editorial base. Over the years, its owners have adhered strongly to the rule that to serve your advertisers best, you must serve your readers well. To that end it has become a newspaper dedicated to capturing the happenings of Beverley, events in the life of its people and, through its advertising, information about the town's trading base.
