A total of 82 tractors rolled up to take part in Skirlaugh Young Farmers’ first-ever charity tractor run.
Escorted by the police, the tractors travelled a 28-mile route around local villages last Sunday and raised more than £1,300 for the Hornsea Inshore Rescue Boat.
Chairman of Skirlaugh Young Farmers Club, John Hepworth said: “We were overwhelmed with the success of the day. One of the tractors was over 70 years old!”
The route of the tractor run, which was marshalled by around 30 Young farmers members or supporters, started at Rise Hall before heading to Skirlaugh, New Ellerby, Marton, West Newton, Aldbrough, Withernwick, Great Hatfield, Mappleton - and then and Hornsea where drivers stopped at the lifeboat compound for fish and chips!
The convoy then carried on through Hornsea, onto Seaton, Sigglesthorne and back to Rise Hall.
