Scarborough singer to sing birthday tribute to Captain Tom Moore during this week's clap for carers
Sammi Lee will sing Happy Birthday for the retired soldier, who raised millions for the NHS by walking 100 laps of his garden, as part of a performance outside her home on The Uplands in Newby.
The professional singer, who performs at pubs around the area, sang a few numbers for last Thursday’s Clap for Carers to the delight of her neighbours.

“It has been good to do this for my own wellbeing and to help lift people’s spirits,” she said.
“It’s lovely to see everyone clapping and joining in.
“One of my neighbours is over 80 and she said last week really boosted her.
“It’s good for my mental health as well. Whenever I sing, I feel uplifted.”
