BOASTING a population of just 130 people, Thixendale is one of the smallest villages in the Driffield area.

Yet it is brimming with talent.

To showcase the ability of those who live there residents plan to to host a special Taste The Wolds event next month.

Thixendale is home to three artisan food producers and a flourishing art gallery within a mile of its centre.

On November 6, they will join forces to hold a free tasting event.

Organised by Jennie Palmer, of Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil, the Taste the Wolds event will give people the opportunity to talk to selected Wolds producers and sample their food and drink.

Jennie said; “I have always wanted to hold a relaxed and informal event where people can meet the teams behind some of the Wolds finest produce to taste, talk and shop.

“I’m delighted that both the producers and the general public appear to share my enthusiasm!”

Taste the Wolds is free and takes place at the Robert Fuller Gallery between 7.30pm and 9.30pm.

Visitors will be welcomed with a mince pie and a glass of wine and there will be a wide range of delicious food and drink to try from producers including The Chilli Jam Man, Wold Top Brewery, Rose Cottage Pies and Wolds Cottage Kitchen.

There will also be a unique opportunity for people to create bespoke Taste the Wolds Christmas hampers or buy ready-made ones ranging from £26 to £80, all of which include a Christmas card from Robert E Fuller.

For further information about Taste the Wolds, please contact Jennie Palmer via e mail at jennie@yorkshirerapeseedoil.co.uk or call 01759 369 573.

The Taste the Wolds event coincides with The Christmas exhibition at the Robert Fuller gallery from November 3 to 18.
