Video: The RNLI - saving lives at sea

Waiting for Video...

The RNLI Driffield Guild Christmas Draw held on Wednesday 4 December raised a whopping £1044.46 to support the work of the charity, which is responsible for saving countless lives at sea.

Attached is a video of a typical rescue which shows both Rhyl lifeboats launched to provide additional crew to assist RSPCA and local coastguard teams help a stranded 10m long minke whale on Pensarn beach, North Wales.

Rhyl’s Mersey and IB1 were launched at 1452 on Monday 9 December to assist RSPCA inspectors and local costguard teams from Rhyl and LLandudno, in returning a stranded 10m-long Minke whale back to sea. The teams succeeded in getting the mammal into deep water.
