Seven months ago, friends Lizzie Appleton and Sarah Parker decided to raise money for charities that were close to their hearts.
They thought that a charity ball may be aiming too high for their first attempt, but after a lot of hard work and support from friends, family and local businesses, they raised £3366 at their Glitter Ball, held at Lazaat Hotel, Cottingham on 27 September.
The money was shared between Yorkshire Cancer Research and PACT (Parents Association of Children with Tumours and Leukaemia).
On the same evening the Beverley Committee for Yorkshire Cancer Research, held a Fashion Show at Tickton Village Hall with Collections of Beverley, Phase Eight, and Amanda’s Golf Wear showing their autumn/winter ranges.
The show was a sell out and raised £1300.
