Talents to go on show at village arts and craft fair

On Sunday 8 June, the Warter Community Centre will host The Best of Yorkshire, Handmade Arts and Crafts Fair and will be welcoming artists and crafters from around Yorkshire to showcase their talents.

There will be a wide range of crafts and activities on display and a chance for visitors to get involved including willow weaving demonstrations by Blacksmiths Shop Crafts; local honey from East Riding Honey including a glass hive to see the bees at work; millinery by Jane Ann who recently had a display of her hats and fascinators in Fenwicks York; designer stationery by Sarah Fleming Designs; photography by Kim Marsden; amber jewellery by Amber Craft; ceramics and glass ware by Torn a Corner Crafts; stained glass by Lucy Bain; hand quilting by Pat Nichol; felting products by Bobbin Around; wooden wares by Chalkboard Lady; embroidery by Tracey Thompson; handmade leather and wirework jewellery by Rue Jewellery; illustrations, cards and bunting by J.A.R; freshwater pearl and gem jewellery by Just Gems, acrylic paintings and rustic wooden crafts by The Yorkshire Palette; artisan baking, jams & chutneys by Deborah Marwood and lavenders, plants and cut flowers by Lavender Blue.

Hilary Miller-Gough, organiser and the artists behind one of the stalls The Yorkshire Palette said: “The fair is great chance to get your hands on some fantastic pieces Yorkshire Arts and Crafts and it is a great way to spend a Sunday in June, what’s more the fair is free to enter and we have free car parking too so there is nothing stopping you from heading here and supporting up and coming creative talent.”
