Stately visitors
twinning
Members of the Driffield St Affrique twinning group with their French guests and the Driffield Male Voice Choir visited Burton Agnes Hall last Thursday evening.
A total of 19 French arrived in Driffield on September 1 to spend a week with host families in Driffield, Nafferton, Kilham, Wetwang and Ruston Parva.
The weather proved to be home from home for the french, high temperatures and clear blue skies every day.
A full programme included a visit to the Burton Agnes hall fete, a hog roast, Harewood House, a race night, Flamborough lighthouse, a clifftop walk around flamborough Head, Bradford Industrial museum and Salts Mill, a familly choice of visit day, a concert at Burton Agnes Hall with the Driffield Male Voice Choir, a day in York and a noisy send off with a Last Night of the Proms Concert at Burton Constable Hall with the Driffield Silver band.
It will be the turn of the English to visit St. Affrique next summer.
