An award-winning Beverley restauranteur is once again cooking the ever-popular Sunday takeaway lunch in aid of Beverley-based charity Age UK East Riding.
Tina Cerutti hopes that this year, she and her team at Cerutti 2, on Station Square, and her group of willing volunteers will exceed last year’s massive total of over 686 takeaway meals and sell 800 on Sunday 3 November.
The Great Sunday Takeaway will provide a Roast Chicken Lunch that costs £4.50 and all the money raised will go to Age UK East Riding to help deliver its services that support older people living in the area.
The lunch is suitable for people of all ages, not just older people, although as always it is hoped that many people will also act as good neighbours and pick up a meal for an elderly relative, friend or person living nearby.
Tina, who has run Sunday takeaway events for several years and has raised many thousands of pounds for charities said: “I know that there a lot of older people who enjoy a hot meal but are unable to cook or collect it themselves. I hope that many younger people will think of them on 3 November, whether relatives, friends or neighbours and come and collect a lunch for them, as well as for themselves.”
The takeaway lunches, for which the chickens, vegetables and trimmings have all been kindly donated by local businesses, will be served hot in foil containers for collection from Cerutti 2 between 11.45am and
The lunches must be ordered in advance by ringing Cerutti 2 on 01482 866700 or Age UK East Riding on 01482 869181. Payment must be made on collection from the restaurant on the day.
