Beverley’s Marie Curie fundraising group held a special Ready, Steady Cook event at Cerutti 2 in Beverley last week, raising in excess of £500 for charity.
The lunch saw Tina Cerutti manager of Cerutti 2 take on her brother Tony from Cerutti’s in Hull, in the kitchen with a cooking challenge against the clock.
A sell-out restaurant of around 50 guests rated the chefs’ chicken and fish dishes, eventually crowning Tina as champion.
Liz Duncan, Chairman of Beverley Marie Curie, said: “We are very happy with the amount of money we raised, we get such amazing support from local people.
“We just wanted the event to be a fun Friday in February. It is very important to us that the money raised by our group goes to help people in and around Beverley.”
The Beverley Marie Curie Fundraising Group was set up in 1997 to help people with terminal illnesses who are nearing the end of their lives.
The Beverley group have several other fundraising events planned for the year including a Grand Depart themed evening and their ‘Bloomin’ Big Tea Party’ in August.
