Police are appealing for help to establish how a road sign came to be placed in the main carriageway of the A164 at Leconfield near to the veterinary surgery.
At around 3.15am on Sunday 28 July a Mitsubishi Lancer was travelling along the A164 when it was in collision with a road sign that had been uprouted and placed across the main carriageway.
The vehicle was badly damaged and the driver was not injured.
The incident had the potential to be very dangerous and police would like to talk to anyone who may know anything about what happened.
