'Ooo la la' and a little bit of Geordie magic

A FRENCH born singer with a little bit of Geordie magic will be performing at a Driffield-based acoustic night.

Flossie Malavialle will headline the Moonbeams acoustic night at the Bell Hotel, Market Place, Driffield on Friday November 28 which promises to open at 7.30pm with a short set from an extra special guest.

Flossie first started getting involved in the UK music scene a decade ago after crossing the channel to take up a job as a french teacher in Stockton-on-Tees.

The exchange teacher soon became a regular fixture at the Darlington folk club but little did she know that was to be the start of a new life in England and a glittering music career.

Flossie has released six albums since September 2002 including Thistle-down, Flossie Sings Piaf and Making up the Miles.

Her repertoire is incredibly varied, covering a wide spectrum of genres from love songs full of energy such as Bonnie Raitt’s ‘Road’s my middle name’ and Marylin Middleton’s ‘Wild Women’ to jazzy tunes like ‘Let’s Fall in Love’ and ‘When I Look in your Eyes’.

Supporting Flossie on Friday will be Dave and Zoe Bottomley and tickets costs 7.50 and are available from Sharon at Street Styles, on Middle Street North.

For ticket reservations or further information contact Leila Slater on tel 07949974573.
