A chart-topping musician from the East Riding is set to launch his new solo album with a special performance at Cherry Burton Village Hall in March.
Henry Priestman, formerly a member of the multi-million selling Island Records band The Christians, will play the special gig to celebrate the launch of his long-awaited album ‘The Last Mad Surge of Youth’.
Henry’s first solo album shot to number 1 in the Amazon folk/world chart after he appeared on Breakfast TV and this seems to have given Henry a new lease of life.
Henry said: “This period of semi-fame is great — and I love performing in the Beverley area.
“It’s actually the first time I’ve played the village hall in Cherry Burton though I’ve heard it’s a wonderful atmosphere.
“I’ll have my local backing band The Men of a Certain Age with me plus a few surprises – it should be a great night.”
Support will be by Longcroft Gospel Choir – who also feature on Henry’s new album.
Tickets (£11) are available in advance from www.WeGotTickets.com, Beverley Tourist Information and Costcutter in Cherry Burton. For telephone reservations /info call 01964 551145.
