Driffield Town Council will be out meeting the residents on Market Place this coming Saturday, 19 October 19 from 10am to 3pm as part of their consultation regarding the impending budget setting and the Mortimer’s Mill Project.
The Town Council have also decided that in order to really encourage every resident to get involved, that the questionnaires that are currently available at the consultation events and on the town council website, are being delivered to each household in Driffield and Little Driffield in the coming week.
The Mayor, Coun Heather Venter said: “After deliberation, we felt it was imperative that the Town Council do everything they can to engage as many residents as possible and encourage them to have their say, by ensuring each household has a questionnaire we can at least give everyone an opportunity to get involved”.
The clerk, Claire Binnington, said: “Not only is it very important that the council understand when setting their budgets, what are the priorities of residents, but also potentially, the Mortimer’s Mill proposal could be the most significant and ambitious project the town council has ever contemplated and as a consequence it is vital that a full consultation takes place”.
The clerk added: “Don’t worry if you have already filled in a questionnaire, they will all be taken into account.
“We would appeal to everyone to complete the survey and get it back to the Town Council offices before Oct31 ober 31, or hand it back at the consultation event on Saturday”.
