Missing Beverley man may have entered the sea

Police looking for a 49-year-old Beverley man who was reported missing after failing to return from a fishing trip with his two dogs believe he may have accidentally entered the sea.

Nigel Savage was reported missing at 1.04am on 31 January with his two springer spaniel dogs following a fishing trip to Burniston the previous day.

Mr Savage’s green coloured Peugeot 206 car was located in the early hours of 3 February in a lay-by at Crook Ness, Field Lane, Burniston and the two springer spaniels were located at the cliffs nearby.

A woman saw the dogs and his rucksack at the location at 4pm on Thursday 30 January 2014 but did not see Nigel Savage in the area.

Air Sea Rescue have also conducted searches of the area.

Nigel Savage is described as white, male 6ft tall with a medium build.

He is bald with facial stubble and has green eyes. He is believed to be wearing dark coloured Craghopper trousers and a dark coloured outdoor jacket.

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw Nigel Savage in the area of Burniston and the cliff location or anybody that has had any contact with him since 8am on Thursday 30 January.
