Cancer charity volunteers are planning a special “Garden Of Hope” on a roundabout at the main entrance to the Beverley Community Hospital.
More than 1,000 daffodil bulbs donated by local garden centres will be planted by Beverley Fund Raising Group for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
As part of the scheme, the charity if offering to planted bulbs in memory of people’s loved ones in exchange for a donation.
Anyone who wants to take part should go to the Hospital on Thursday 24 October between 1.30pm and 4pm when fund raisers will be present to accept donations. A book will be available for people to sign, or donations can be sent to the Treasurer, 15 Greyfriars Crescent, Beverley HU17 8LR, cheques made payable to Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Money raised from the Garden will fund Marie Curie Nurses in the Beverley area, to enable more terminally ill patients to be cared for in their own homes, totally free of charge. Bulbs have been donated by Coletta and Tyson, The Beverley Garden Centre and Morrison’s Supermarket.
