Have your say on Lifeline service
East Riding of Yorkshire Council is to hold a series of meetings for tenants in Beverley to give their views on the proposed changes to the Lifeline service.
The meetings are aimed at tenants who have no choice but to have the Lifeline and warden service and live in non-sheltered accommodation.
Non-sheltered properties with Lifeline installed were historically reserved for people who needed support but, due to the demand for council properties, other people were being given accommodation where the Lifeline equipment is wired into the building, meaning it could not easily be removed.
The Lifeline and warden service provides assistive technology in people’s homes that allows them to remain in their own home for longer by having access to a staffed 24-hour, 365 day a year monitoring centre when they need support.
Tenants will have the chance to hear and comment on the proposals at two meetings on Tuesday 14 February between 3pm and 4pm and on Wednesday 15 February between 6pm and 7pm.
Both meetings will be held in the council chamber, County Hall, Cross Street, Beverley.
