Fund raising thanks

On behalf of Friends of Longcroft School, please would you include the editorial below in the next edition of your newspaper?
On behalf of the Friends of Longcroft School (FOLS), I would like to thank all the generous Christmas shoppers of Beverley Tesco for supporting our charity bag pack on Sunday 23rd December.
In total, we raised £296, which will be split equally between our group and Cancer Research UK, which is Tesco’s chosen charity. All the funds raised by FOLS go directly back into the school, by purchasing new equipment and funding additional projects, all with the aim of enhancing the experience of Longcroft students.
As with many organisations, we continue to raise funds throughout the year and our next event is on Saturday 26th January, with a coffee morning at Toll Gavel Church between 9:30am and 11:30am. However, alongside raising money, we also want to encourage local people who used to go to Longcroft to come along. This will be a great opportunity for former pupils to reminisce about their school days and to meet students who currently attend the school.
All too often we talk about the differences between younger and older people, but the reality is that we all have more shared experiences than we realise and so it would be great to see different generations of Longcroft students talking together about their times at the school.
We are also appealing for parents of children who currently attend Longcroft to join our group – it would be great to have more parents either on our committee or happy to be contacted when volunteers are needed at events. Over the years we’ve found it to be a great way to make friends, have a laugh and raise money that helps to support our children. If you cannot commit the time to joining FOLS, you can help us in many other ways, from donating tombola prizes to suggesting other events we could organise.
