Police have released the name of a man who died following a fatal road traffic collision near Filey, as they renew their appeal for witnesses.
It occurred just before 5pm on Sunday 15 December 2013, on Reighton bypass, Filey, involving a silver Volkswagen Golf and a green tractor, towing a trailer.
At the time of the collision the tractor was heading towards Bridlington when the Golf hit the back of the trailer.
The driver of the Golf, 27-year-old Scarborough man, Daniel Layton, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Scarborough District Hospital where he sadly died on Monday 16 December 2013.
The man driving the tractor, who is aged 40 and from Scarborough, was not injured as a result of the incident.
Traffic Sergeant Pete Wood, of the Force’s Roads Policing Group, said: “If you were on the A165, near Filey, at the time of the collision I urge to come forward and contact the police straight away as you may have vital information that could help this investigation.”
