A Saturday night out ended badly for a Beverley hairdresser when she was caught drink-driving.
Hollie Lindop, 25, had gone drinking with her boyfriend after finishing work at the Unique Hair Salon on Walkergate, Beverley Magistrates heard.
But at 3am the next morning, on Sunday July 20, she was caught behind the wheel of her car on Lairgate while almost three times the legal drink-drive limit.
Defending Matthew Coggin said her intention had been to get a taxi back home to Hull but that she’d had an argument with her boyfriend and found herself alone without any money.
“They had an argument, she walked away and thought her boyfriend would follow her, but he didn’t,” said Mr Goggin.
“She took refuge in her car and tried to call hum but there was no answer, so she set off driving around to try and find him.”
The court heard how Lindop, of The Croft, Hull, takes part in regular fundraising events, including carrying out head-shaves, for cancer charities.
Her breathalyser reading was 103mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit being 35mg.
Lindop was disqualified from driving for 23 months and fined £400. She was told to pay £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
