A cyclist was airlifted to hospital yesterday with a suspected head injury after being in collision with a red Toyota Corolla on Market Weighton Road, Holme On Spalding Moor.

The collision happened shortly after 1130hrs on Sunday 6 October as both the cyclist and the car were travelling along the A614 from Holme On Spalding Moor towards Market Weighton.

It is believed that the red Toyota Corolla performed a manoeuvre to pass the cyclist, but the two made contact and the cyclist fell from the cycle.

The cyclist, a 75 year old man sustained a head injury as a result of the fall and was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary where his injuries have been assessed as not life threatening.

Witnesses are being sought to the collision and police ask that anyone with information contacts the non emergency number 101 quoting log number 293 of 6 October 2013.
