Charity website launched
A CHARITY has launched a website to increase awareness about its work in Beverley.
The Beverley Consolidated Charity, which provides accommodation to over 150 elderly people in the town, now offers the online service through which prospective residents can apply for housing.
Built by local web specialists Indicoll the website aims to raise awareness about the almshouse charity’s work in the town.
A detailed history on the charity, its development and the historic buildings under its stewardship is also available alongside a news section and profiles of the charity’s staff members and trustees.
Jo Dunn, Chairman of the Beverley Consolidated Charity said: “The charity is 100% self-funded, but we are always open to receiving donations from benefactors. The new website will help raise our profile amongst the people of Beverley and further afield, and spread the word that there is subsidised accommodation specifically available to local people over 60 who are in need.
“Our aim is to help local, elderly people with health, financial or social needs to improve their quality of life. The requirements for applicants are that they must be over 60, and have lived in Beverley or the sister parishes of Beverley Minster for 10 years or more (not consecutively) during their lifetime.”
Established in 1912 by an Act of Parliament, the Beverley Consolidated Charity was the product of an amalgamation of many historic charities in the area. For further information visit beverleyconsolidatedcharity.org.uk
