Local charities in the UK are set to receive a charitable donation with a difference.
Bright Ethics, a start-up company in Hull, is offering its service free of charge to a number of charities operating in the UK.
It may seem like a bold move from a company approaching only its first year in business.
However, Bright Ethics exists to promote organisations which make a positive contribution to society, and takes a firm stance against those which put profit above all else.
Organisations that work with Bright Ethics receive a unique multi-disciplinary ethical audit of their practices for the environment, human resources supply chains and taxation. Targets for improvement are agreed and ethical policies are put in place. They may then carry the Bright Ethics badge on their packaging and promotional materials. This leads to greater recognition of their ethical values and increased sales.
Daniel Marten, Managing Director of Bright Ethics, hopes charities experience a real boost from bearing his company’s ethical badge.
“We want charities, which make an invaluable contribution to our society, to receive as much recognition as possible for their ethical values,” he said.
“The fact of the matter is that consumers today actively seek out companies and services which are genuinely ethical. Nothing short will do. As a business, we are working towards gaining national recognition of our brand. We are proud of what it represents and delighted to offer it to local charities.”
