Police are appealing to the public to help identify a man they would like to speak to in connection with an attempted burglary at a pub in Beverley.
The incident took place between 1.50am and 2am on Sunday 11 August at the White Horse Inn on Hengate, when a man entered the pub through a fire door at the rear of the building, setting off an alarm.
The man then searched the till and other areas of the bar until the landlords of the pub disturbed the man.
The man then tried to force his way out of a side door onto Hengate Road but failed, before trying to escape through the cellar where he became trapped.
As the landlords called the police the man managed to escape back through the fire exit and leave the area.
The authorities have said nothing was stolen in the incident.
Officers investigating the incident are keen to speak to the man in the CCTV or anyone who can help identify him.
Anyone with information should contact Humberside Police on 101 quoting the crime reference number 1991654 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
