Farmers in the Driffield area will have the chance to catch up with the latest on CAP reform and SPS implementation when two of the NFU’s top national specialists visit the town next month.
National CAP expert, Gail Soutar, will kick off with three meetings in early March, outlining the detail of the CAP proposals and answering member questions.
The three meetings will be held as follows: Tuesday 4 March – Hedon Branch meeting - Birstwick Golf Club at 7pm; Wednesday 5 March – Driffield Branch meeting - The Bell Hotel, Market Place, Driffield at 2.30pm; Wednesday 5 March – Yorkshire Coast Branch meeting - The Mayfield, Main Street, Seamer at 7.30pm.
Then on, Wednesday 12 March, Ryedale Branch will host a meeting with national SPS specialist Richard Wordsworth. Richard’s knowledge of the Single Payment Scheme is second to none so his visit gives farmers the perfect opportunity to have their questions answered.
This meeting, which will also include a round-up of CAP reform proposals, will be held at Kirkbymoorside Golf Club at 7.00pm.
Anyone wanting to attend is asked to book a place by calling their local NFU Group Secretary. For more farming news see 22 and 23.
