Following an armed robbery at a Beverley Jewellers on Tuesday 6th August 2013, a photograph of a car has been released by Humberside Police in a bid to map its whereabouts over the last fortnight.
A silver coloured Vauxhall Omega car is believed to have been used as the getaway car in the armed robbery and detectives investigating the incident need to trace its whereabouts over the last few weeks.
The silver Vauxhall Omega car, registration number KH03UJA, is believed to have been used in the robbery and parked outside the Guest and Phillips Jewellers for only a few minutes during the robbery and was then used as the getaway car.
It is believed many people will have passed the vehicle, whilst it was parked in Saturday Market due to the time of day.
The vehicle has been recovered abandoned with the engine running, near the Beverley Westwood shortly after the robbery.
As previously reported, Police are hunting armed robbers who raided a jewellery store in Beverley today and stole watches worth “tens of thousands of pounds”.
Early reports suggest that three men forced their way into Guest and Philips in Saturday Market in the town centre shortly after it opened at 9.30am.
According to Humberside Police, staff were threatened with a firearm.
No shots were fired and nobody was injured.
The robbers used an axe to smash the window displays which housed the watches.
Officers are currently at the scene conducting searches and talking to witnesses, police said.
Detectives investigating the armed robbery are urging anyone who believe they may have witnessed this vehicle in the last fortnight to call 101, quoting log number 137 of 06/08/2013.
