Driffield’s Catholic community played host top a special guest - the Archbishop of Minsk-Mohilev in Belarus.
The most Rev Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz arrived last week and during his stay, which ended on Monday, he met with local clergy and congregation members during a series of events which included services and informal gatherings.
Archbishop Kondrusuewicz met with priests and deacons in Driffiled to share some insights with them at the life of the Church in Belarus and there was time to explore ways of helping and supporting the church.
The Archbishop also joined with Father David White to concelebrate the First Friday Mass which included the Anointing of the Sick. After Mass, the Archbishop joined the parish for a social gathering.
On Saturday, the Archbishop was joined by Bishop Terry Drainey for the celebration of Mass at at English Martyrs, York, which was followed by a public lecture about the life of the Church in Belarus.
The Archbishop also celebrated the Vigil Mass of Sunday in Driffield.
