Kilham is to play host to its second annual beer festival will be held over the weekend of 6 – 8 September 2013 in aid of the village Playing Field Association.
Following on from last years success, the event promises to be another great weekend and organisers will again be teaming up with Great Newsome Brewery to supply more than 35 real ales and real ciders as well as the usual bottle and wine bar.
There will be live music all weekend with Big Me, Seafret, Alfie Mulroy, Ben Parcel, Dogfinger, The Moonshine Music Men, The Flivvers and Poppy Shrimpton and a limited number of on-site camping pitches.
As with last year this is a family friendly festival and there will be plenty of entertainment for the children with a bouncy castle, Captain Kipper and more.
Last year festival goers managed to consume a staggering 2160 pints of ale, 350 pints of cider, 600 bottles of lager and 70 bottles of wine.
All proceeds from the event are donated to the Kilham Playing Field Association to help maintain and develop the village playing field.
Previously agricultural land the site on the corner of Back Lane and Thwing Road was levelled and seeded, and officially opened in July 2010 and is now home to three grass tennis courts, swings, slides and othe play equipment as well as both full size and 5-a-side football pitches and it is hoped that the money raised will help towards the construction of an all weather multi-function hard court.
Further details can be found at the beer festival web-site www.kilhamplayingfield.org/beerfestival. Tickets can be purchased via the website at a discounted price until the end of August and will be also be available to buy on the gate during the festival.
