Appeal after 14 puppies stolen
OFFICERS from the East Riding are appealing for help in locating a large number of puppies that were stolen from an insecure address on Queensgate, Beverley.
The theft of 14 puppies - a mixture of chihuahuas and pugs - took place during Friday 20 January.
Police are currently investigating the theft and, at this time, believe the puppies may have been taken to the South Yorkshire area. Two laptop computers were also stolen during the incident.
No arrests have been made at this time and police are appealing for anyone who may have seen somebody acting suspiciously in the area on 20 January, to call police.
Detective Inspector Tony Cockerill, who is investigating the incident said: “The theft of these animals has been very distressing for the family, and I would appeal to anyone with information to please contact police.
“We are currently following a number of lines of enquiry, but at this stage have not yet been able to locate the stolen puppies.
“I would like to ask anyone who may see a large litter of puppies - chihuahua or pugs - for sale and feel it may be suspicious, to contact police. I want to see the litter re-united with the owner as soon as possible.”
Anyone who may be able to help police with their enquiries is asked to call Humberside Police tel 101 quoting log 480 22 January 2012.
