Fundraisers at Yorkshire Cancer Research are delighted to have made £4,000 at their charity dance evening at Bridlington Spa on Saturday.

Featuring music from Todd Miller and the Joe Loss Orchestra and the Aces, the event attracted over 400 people eager to put on their dancing shoes.

The annual dance, which has been running for 19 years has now raised £122,000 for the charity.

Jan Jagger, Chairman of the Bridlington Fundraising Committee for Yorkshire Cancer Research, said: “We’ve done extremely well, £4,000 is a lot to make in one night.

“The dance floor was full the whole night. Bridlington has one of the best ballrooms in the whole country and I don’t think it is used enough.

“I would like to thank everyone who supports Yorkshire Cancer Research during these austere times.

“Money raised in Yorkshire is spent on research in Yorkshire and 87p from every pound raised goes to research.”
