Guide Dogs are asking local schools to get involved in their Future Heroes Day activities on May 9 by helping raise money to train more life-changing puppies to become guide dog heroes.

And these dogs are certainly heroes. For example, Guide Dog of the Year Winner, Jazz, pulled her owner Emma Free and her children to safety when a lorry mounted the kerb right next to them.

“If it weren’t for Jazz I don’t think me or my kids would be here now. I knew I could trust her my life and that of my children. I didn’t hesitate to follow her.” said Emma.
