Have your say

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is pleased that a number of approaches have been made from communities across the area in developing neighbourhood plans.

To date, Allerthorpe, Cottingham, Woodmansey, Sutton-Upon-Derwent, Market Weighton, Wawne, North Cave and Pocklington have been granted as neighbourhood areas and, with support from the council’s forward planning service, their town and parish councils are progressing their own neighbourhood plans.

Neighbourhood planning can be used for a variety of purposes, such as identifying where new homes, shops and industrial uses should be built. Plans also allow communities to have a say on what new buildings look like or what existing features in the community should be protected.
