STUDENTS from Longcroft School and Performing Art College were crowned overall Northern Grand Premier Champions at the finals of the Lifestyle Rock Challenge.

The Beverley students scooped the title with their dramatic performance 'The Demise of Medusa', in a ceremony at Grimsby Auditorium, where they were crowned champions by Baroness Ruth Henig.

In second place was Hornsea School and Language College, with a performance entitled 'Creativity'.

First place in the open finals was awarded to South Holderness School and Technology College.

Hessle All Saints CE Primary School won first prize in the inaugural Junior Rock Challenge event, held at Hull Ice Arena in April.
