Pupils in a number of primary schools across the East Riding will have lessons in healthy eating and physical activity – thanks to an innovative form of drama.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s public health team has organised a series of Change4Life BIG Difference performances in local schools during the week starting Monday 23 June.

The BIG Difference is an interactive performance which promotes the key Change4Life messages by encouraging pupils to eat more healthily and increase their physical activity levels.

It uses a form of drama known as ‘theatre in education’ to address the health messages.

The performances will take place at Westfield Primary School in Cottingham on Monday 23 June; Driffield Junior School on Tuesday 24 June; Beverley Minster Primary School on Wednesday 25 June; Hornsea Burton Primary School on Thursday 26 June (morning); Hilderthorpe Primary School at Bridlington on Thursday 26 June (afternoon); Willerby Carr Lane Primary School on Friday 27 June (morning); and Keldmarsh Primary School in Beverley on Friday 27 June (afternoon).
