Driffield Rotary is once again offering students the opportunity to apply for funding that is available to aid their studies on courses at college or university.
The following awards are available to students who either have attended Driffield School or live within the postal district and boundaries of Driffield and Driffield Rotary club:
* Music – for recognised courses at established specialist institutes and universities.
* Medicine – courses run by established medical schools and universities. Students must also have attended Driffield school to be considered for this award;
* The Judy and Hector Fraser Fund for Agricultural Studies – for recognised courses at established institutions specialising in agriculture or universities.
Driffield Rotary is also able to award a new scholarship fund offered for the first time this year. The Gordon Leason Carpentry Apprenticeship Scholarship Fund.
Applications are invited from students not less than 16 years of age who have, entered upon, or intend to enter upon an Indentured Carpentry Apprenticeship to an established joiner/carpenter and who in respect of this are undertaking or intend to undertake a recognised course of study at a duly approved and recognised college of further education. Applications will also be considered from students who have applied and been accepted for a carpenter/ joiners course of not less than one year at a recognised college of further education.
All applicants for this award should normally reside in the Driffield postal area. and may be asked to produce evidence of genuine interest and diligence from work done, school reports and personal referees.
We are excited to be able to offer this new award in an area which is vocational rather than academic and are looking forward to receiving applications.
