A Driffield youth club has received a major cash boost, thanks to The East Riding of Yorkshire Youth and Family Support Service which hosted the Positive Activities awards presentation evening at County Hall in Beverley.
The Dynamix club received a welcome grant of £2,000.
Dynamix is an all-inclusive Saturday morning club which meets in Driffield School’s Sixth Form building.
The club is for anyone with additional needs, their friends and family, aged 8 to 25.
The Positive Activity Grant will go towards supporting this fantastic group and all its exciting activities over the coming year.
The Chairman of the East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Councillor Mole, who presented the awards said: “It was wonderful to meet Dynamix. The awards will enable these groups to deliver positive activities to children and young people to help improve their personal, social, educational development as well as provide some great fun activities”
Kevin Allen – YFS Service Manager: “As a Youth and Family Support Service, we are delighted to announce this award which will enable young people to take part in a wide range of new positive activities.
“The award will enable young people to try new activities and help sustain the excellent work of Dynamix youth group”.
Small grants were awarded to a number of voluntary, not-for-profit organisations at the ceremony, to expand the amount of positive activity available to the young people of the East Riding aged 5 to 19 years.
The funding is to be used by a range of established clubs and new groups to buy new equipment, help with running costs, staffing, rent and the like.
