DRIFFIELD Town Council's collection of memorabilia looks set to be expanded after councillors gave the thumbs up to plans to purchase 50 thimbles.
Coun Tony Cooper still has 50 thimbles left over from when he was mayor - so he offered them for sale to the town council.
Members of the policy finance committee agreed at Tuesday's meeting to recommend to full town council that it should pay £35 for the thimbles.
The thimbles would join other items of memorabilia purchased by the council, including glasses, keyrings and bookmarks.
