A NEW home for the new year could be on the cards for one of these abandoned dogs who are all looking for new owners.
Bridlington and District branch of the RSPCA are appealing for would be dog owners to take one of 17 rescue dogs home with them.
Kevin Townend, owner of the kennels where the dogs are currently being housed, said: “Anyone interested in taking one of these dogs in has got to realise the commitment they have got to take on.
“We are looking for someone who wants to take on that commitment and we have to take into consideration their requirements for example if they want a small dog or it they have children.”
Anyone wishing to be considered as a would-be dog owner is urged to contact the RSPCA to arrage a home visit.
Mr Townend added: “Someone comes out and checks the home is big enough for the dog and the size of dog that they want is suitable.
“They then receive a little slip that tells us that they have had a home visit and they can come along to the kennels and start to look for a dog.”
For further information about any of these dogs or if anyone may be able to offer one of them a loving home please call Sue Preston on tel (01377) 240325.
