Cyclists more exposed than ever

Have the designers of the new road markings on Woodhall Way/Manor Road/Wylies Road ever ridden a cycle?
The cyclist is more exposed than ever here. Someone surely has dropped a clanger looking at these new road markings.

I am a 20,000 mile a year driver and a keen local cyclist around Beverley. I believe that the new markings on Woodhall Way are crazy.
If we are to encourage people to ride cycles to work and local journeys leaving the car at home, proper cycle lanes need to be constructed, NOT painting lines on main roads expecting the cyclist to dodge round the parked cars and delivery vans etc, into the path of motor vehicles having to drive in the middle of the road.

The newly constructed cycle/footways from the new ambulance station to Leconfield from Dog and Duck roundabout to Cherry Burton Crossroads, Beverley to Walkington and Beverley to Woodmansey. These are proper cycle tracks and are brilliant for the cyclist. No suicide lanes.
