I feel very strongly that people must be aware that they could get a parking fine if they park outside a designated space at the Tesco store car-park in Beverley.

I parked on a hashed area at the end of the row of parking spaces last week, as there were no other spaces, and was issued with a £70 fine (generously reduced to £40 if paid within 2 weeks!).

I wouldn't mind if there had been any warning signs displayed, but there are none. I have seen people park in these areas before this, and since, (one, this week, was in the process of being fined).

I am boycotting the store (losing Tesco around £5,000 a year until the situation is rectified. This practice is scandalous.
